FINAL TERM - GAME LEVEL DESIGN






Making use of the knowledge gained after going through ‘Mastering Unreal Technology’ and some very helpful online tutorials like http://squacky.planetunreal.gamespy.com/unrealed.htm and architectonic.planetunreal.gamespy.com/first_level.html , I have produced a ten room game level plan. Corresponding to the brief, I have used the default textures already present in the editor but I have declared in the submission as asked. In my levels, I have tried and used weapon pickups, health pack pickups as well as adrenalin pickups. I have tried and given my plan an interesting shape as I have made the rooms on different levels and by connecting them by stairs, so the player can have a variety of movements and an interesting combat.



FINAL TERM - VISUALISATION



My main ideal is to present a basic modern setup of a city plan. I tried to make a
compact city plan by including buildings, skyscrapers, houses, avenues and basic
necessities of the city like the traffic lights, zebra crossing, etc.



Initially I aimed to re-discover an already present architectural structure. But with the guidance of tutor Simon Wallet who told me to give an imaginative and a more creative approach to the project, I tried to make the city layout and used the basic experience of the Bulwell Academy Project. After going through the architectural layouts and techniques used in the above mentioned project, I got inspired to make a creative plan of a city through my imagination.



I went through a number of books like ‘AutoCAD 2004 by Thomas P. Zurflich’ to grasp the basics of architectural planning. Then I studied the ‘Enhanced Visualisation by Barry G Blundell’ to mould my imagination and give it a more realistic approach. I surfed internet and went through the portfolios of various 3d companies which offer a 3d virtual tour of different architectural structures and plans.




I have achieved a lot through this project. I have acquired a professional approach to 3d architectural visualisation as I have successfully produced a city plan with basic necessities and a very practical look with a varied usage of textures. Please refer to the enclosed previews.

FINAL TERM - ANIMATION

With reference to the task provided, I am presenting three characters through a comic and short scripted animated clip. The three characters are Bitsy the fly, Bing the bulb, Buster the alien.



The main intension to produce these characters was to present something simple, common and yet attractive. With the three characters, I aim to produce a scene in which the scientists have put the alien in a dark room, which has a bulb and a fly in it. The bulb and the fly are buddies for a long time. The twist is bulb has his eyes on the fly and the fly would make him jealous of the alien which has lately been put in the same room. The alien is lost in his world and is not aware of other creatures present in the room. The alien is practising his skills in the dark room so as to protect himself from the humans.



As the chat between bulb and the fly goes on regarding the alien, which is presented in the clip, the alien practises his skills but with the time passing he would start losing his energy. Then the bulb which will help recharging him will prove his bravery to the fly and win her heart, while the alien would fight away with the scientists and make a safe escape.

The gaming factor would be the fight between the scientists and the alien with the bulb giving the alien power alongside and the fly would act as an informer and get the strategy data of the scientists to the bulb which would transfer that data to the alien electrically.
